#Weddings-Planning 101 - Chapter 01

We know weddings can be quite a strange place especially to those newly-engaged and planner brides to be. Most of the times it can be so overwhelming that a bride-to-be would just suffer a panic attack at the thought of the things she may need to do during planning & preparation! Truthfully, weddings is no easy task and if not planned carefully; you may get a stroke having to see your wedding gone wrong! Yes.. improper planning can actually result a havoc wedding...

This is why we come up with a check list for all the brides to be out there. We hoped with this list; you brides can take it one step at a time for planning!
So, here's the list below - you are welcome to download & edit em' for your own use.

WEDDING CHECKLIST

10 - 12 MONTHS BEFORE:

  • Set your wedding date. Pick a few dates, just in case your desired venues are not available.
  • Discuss the style & size of wedding ceremony. Discuss with spouse, parents and future in-laws on receptions matters
  • Set a budget.
  • Book your reception venue according your taste and budget.(Keep note: Some venues need advance booking 1 year!) Tip: Certain months/dates are more popular than others.
  • Consult a wedding expert / book a wedding planner / wedding decorist
  • Book a date with the ROM (Registry of Marriage) 
  • Planning engagement party: set the date & venue, ring, theme, (dais, trays of exchange - malay B2bs), attire, catering, favors etc
  • Malay B2bs: Prepare for engagement ceremony (if applies)
  • Set your wedding theme (Research to get the desired color scheme, feel & look)
  • Begin your guest list.
  • Organize and file all important documents in a systematic order. Keep a separate file for payments and receipts.(this will help you keep track of what has been done, what needs to be done and also manage all your expenses)
  • Begin to shop around for bridal attire material (if to make) or bridal gowns, headpiece and bridal accessories.
  • Malay B2bs: Begin shopping around for hantaran / trays of exchange items (scout for sales and bargains)
  • Start research for main wedding vendors (florist, designer, photographers, videos) Attend as many weddings as possible and get as many reference you can.
